Futurecop! – Lost Love ft. DWNTWN

futurecop-duo

Futurecop! is a UK duo, Manzur Iqbal and Peter Carrol. Haven’t seen much from these guys since their album release late 2013. Well, they’re not wasting time… their next album, Fairytales of Summer Shoegazers, is already in the works and due out later this year. Here’s the first sound I’ve heard from the new LP, very ethereal and airy vocals. Be sure to like their facebook page as they’ve already announced a remix coming out today!

*TBT* Armand Van Helden – U Don’t Know Me + Professional Widow

armandvanheldenUDontKnowMe

This was probably one of my favorite house tracks that I bought on vinyl. Most of my vinyl is singles, 2-4 track EPs. I don’t even remember listening to it in the store as I would everything else. I just saw Armand Van Helden and snagged it. The discs I ended up with were a small selection of the 2Future4U album. Of course,  by this point in Armand’s career, it was pretty hard for him to top his remix of ‘Professional Widow’ from Tori Amos. I guess I can post that one up for reference. I just went with ‘U Don’t Know Me’ because it’s been on my mind lately. Enjoy some awesome old skool house!

London Grammar – Sights [Tourist Version]

London Grammar Hannah Reid, centre

It’s funny how anonymity can drive fame. When London Grammar began promoting their song “Hey Now” over Youtube in late 2012, they got a lot of attention not only because the song was amazing, but also because no one could find pictures of the band. The band name in plain white letters was all most of us could find. Since their major success in 2013, they’ve finally done some photo ops, sold out every date of their U.S. Tour, and even did a cover of INXS’s “Devil Inside” for a Game of Thrones trailer. Tourist brings this song in very soft and atmospheric then drops a little 2-step beat on the second half. Enjoy.
