Architecture In Helsinki – I Might Survive [Andras Fox Dub]

architecture-in-helsinki

Looking through Architecture In Helsinki‘s press photos, it sure does look like they have a lot of fun together. I’d love to be part of a band like that. Guess that’s one of the drawbacks of being a solo artist, eh? Plus they seem pretty free form with their band overall, sometimes performing with 8 members on stage, other times just 4 or 5. If you’re looking for another taste of AIH’s sound, I highly suggest this number off theirĀ Moment Bends LP: Contact High

Andras Fox, another Australian producer, takes their track “I Might Survive” off to another level of airy delight!

p.s. It’s officially final week for me, so if I’m slackin this week… too bad!

Local Natives – Heavy Feet [Virgin Magnetic Material Remix]

virgin magnetic material

An incredibly relaxing track. Shai Vardi, aka Virgin Magnetic Material, the enigmatic producer who just keeps giving us high quality deep progressive remix is at it again! Today’s remix of Local Natives‘ ‘Heavy Feet’ brings an incredible atmospheric sound to the L.A. indie rock band. If you dig this, follow both of these artists!!

Lorde – Tennis Court [Flume Remix]

Flume

Yes, it’s a Lorde track, get over it. The real star of this post is my man Flume, given name Harley Streten. If you’re checking out my blog, my guess is you’ve probably heard Flume’s work before. This Australian supernova has been on a non-stop rise for the past two years. His single ‘Sleepless’ with Jezzabell Doran is probably my favorite of his earlier work, although ‘Holdin On‘ surpassed it to take the No. 1 spot on the Aussie indie charts. If you haven’t caught his debut album, what the hell are you waiting for?? Meanwhile, get down with this epic collab with Lorde.

p.s. Heads up ATLiens, Flume will be coming to town as part of What So Not at the Mad Decent Block Party in July, get tix!!

*TBT* Marshall Jefferson vs Noosa Heads – Mushrooms [Salt City Orchestra Out There Mix]

“What we’re gonna do right here is go back, way back, back into time” – The Jimmy Castor Bunch

One of my favorite deep house tracks. I think this came out around 2000. I’ve heard it on so many mixes and compilations since it was released it’s hard to remember when I first heard it. This is one of those tracks that takes you to another place completely. Especially if you were in another place mentally when you heard it the first time (why I never!). So for those of you who have not had the pleasure before, I suggest you do whatever you gotta do to detach from the troubles and stresses of the world; sit in a meadow full of daisies and meditate, find a closet and lock yourself in there, smoke the phattest blunt you can roll, whatever…. just relax and enjoy this aural journey. Thank you Marshall Jefferson, Noosa Heads, and the Salt City Orchestra!
