Seekae – Another

seekae-landscape-press

Seekae (originally Commander Keen, but they realized that name was already taken) is a Sydney trio comprised of Alex Cameron, John Hassel, and George Nicholas. These guys have been hailed as sonic entrepreneurs in Australia since their debut album in 2008. I first discovered their incredibly beautiful and hypnotic sounds after +Dome came out, but I only recently began to learn more about the group. They actually won a grant after their first album and since then have really been putting a lot of work into creating more complex soundscapes. In addition, this video for their latest track Another, is very gripping, and dark. Most say that the tradition of sacrifice in tribute to the land is real, but they generally use the fetus of a llama or alpaca. ¿Crees que pasa en el vídeo es un mito o no?

London Grammar – Sights [Tourist Version]

London Grammar Hannah Reid, centre

It’s funny how anonymity can drive fame. When London Grammar began promoting their song “Hey Now” over Youtube in late 2012, they got a lot of attention not only because the song was amazing, but also because no one could find pictures of the band. The band name in plain white letters was all most of us could find. Since their major success in 2013, they’ve finally done some photo ops, sold out every date of their U.S. Tour, and even did a cover of INXS’s “Devil Inside” for a Game of Thrones trailer. Tourist brings this song in very soft and atmospheric then drops a little 2-step beat on the second half. Enjoy.

Chrome Sparks – Goddess

Jeremy Malvin, aka Chrome Sparks, delivers his best work to date. I posted on his Sparks EP last year and thank the almighty universe that he has received due attention! He is on tour now with Jesse Brickel, aka Young Yeller, and Bill Delelles. Check out tour dates on his website. While I generally give you something quite chill on a Sunday, I could not resist sharing this epic excursion which starts out a bit subdued, but works itself into a crescendo of synth melody. Please, share this with a friend and enjoy.
